Thanks to Our Volunteers

After a busy and successful book sale year, it is the perfect time to shine some light on our volunteers.

Our book sale volunteers are a passionate and dedicated group. After helping at one sale, they are already clamoring to sign up for the next. They frequently have a specific day and time slot to sale and enjoy the experience together. Our volunteers dig into their assigned tasks with enthusiasm-from helping create organization from chaos at set up, to helping shoppers find just the right book and bagging their purchases with a smile and a thank you.

The book sale team especially enjoys welcoming the youngsters who volunteer through school or scouts. It is great to see the transformation- they begin this “boring” volunteer commitment unsure and quiet, wondering when they can get back to their fun lives. Then it happens. The book sale magic. They are excited to help Shoppers with the armloads of books. They are happy to help restock the tables or assist carrying large purchases out to cars. Their eyes light up when they are told they can chose 5 free books to bring home. The best part is when they ask if we need more help the next day- sometimes they just show up and ask if help is needed.

Our volunteers are a special group of people. They are so important to the success of our book sales. Knowing you are willing to show up and pitch in makes it all worthwhile.
